The Task Force frequently revisited plans for the transport of Cross (or his body) to the United Kingdom. The British offered to help coordinate an aircraft while the Canadians wanted to provide their own plane. Ritchie wanted a timely decision to avoid any “ill-received” last-minute decisions.
