Summary of Cross & Laporte Kidnappings

In November, Trudeau became concerned that there would be no complete record of the federal government's actions during the crisis. He requested that an official chronology be created so government officials could “establish the facts to [their] own satisfaction.” Accordingly, the Task Force on Kidnapping began keeping a log of events and decisions, a partial copy of which is included in this file covering 5 October to 5 December. Also included are notes relating to the organization of the log.
