Media and Public Reaction

The Task Force tracked media reporting on the kidnappings, as well as general public reaction. Any mention of the FLQ or the kidnappings in the media, both domestic and international, was recorded. Since one of the FLQ's demands was the publication of their manifesto, the federal government also had to decide handle that request and all associated media. Included in this section are files labeled “Canadian News Media,” “Public Reaction,” and “Distribution of Public Information.”
