The RCMP prepared an answer for the Solicitor General in response to a question raised by Cossitt. The answer confirmed the Feather Bed file was still intact in its entirety. There was no intention to destroy or reduce the file before, during, or after the transfer from the RCMP Security Service to the new civilian security service.
