CDFB00143. 21 February 1972. Correspondence from Sgt. R.I. MacEwan to S/Insp. A.M. Barr Regarding Jean Daviault.

Sgt. MacEwan wrote about details regarding Jean Daviault offered by Dr. Kaye Lamb, a former Dominion Archivist and Daviault’s superior. Dr. Lamb advised that there had been a fruitless RCMP investigation concerning Daviault in 1955, and records had since been destroyed. However, the investigation led Dr. Lamb, at the time, to advise Daviault to accept the first job opportunity that came along for him, noting his financial and emotional instability. He also spoke of reports that Daviault had offered microfilms for sale to some members of the press.
