By 1975, the Featherbed section had collapsed, and its resources reallocated. This new investigation, the name of which remains redacted here, focused on re-examining the files of Department of External Affairs employees, as well as scrutinizing members of the Parliamentary Press Gallery, particularly those with Soviet connections. Not unlike the earlier Featherbed exercise, these investigations were inconclusive, as they struggled to even narrow down a list of potential candidates. Efforts at the time centered around Jean Daviault, Leo Clavir, and Mark Frank; however, they were not strong leads
