7 May 1969: Consulate General, San Francisco to External - Antiballistic Missile Program

Canadian diplomats also followed the internal American debate regarding ABMs and Nixon's proposed Safeguard system. In this memo to External Affairs, the Consulate General in San Francisco cited multiple news sources in California, and concluded that “Opinion is fairly well divided regarding the value of an ABM system for the United States, though at this time there appears to be more against it than for it.”
