25 March 1969: London to External - SALT Talks and ABMs
Days later, Canada's High Commission in London informed Ottawa that British officials believed that SALT was moving forward without delay, and the Soviet Union had not changed its position on talks following Nixon’s ABM announcement.
The High Commission also reported that the British government was disappointed with Nixon’s ABM deployment decision, and apparently shared Canadian concerns that it could increase the pace of the arms race.
