22 May 1964: Alerts Black Box

A month later, Sharpe wrote to P.D. Smith (Director, Royal Canadian Corps of Signals), expressing surprise and dismay that the elimination of the black-box, a “major shift in policy,” had been decided upon by in technical correspondence between engineers. Sharpe sought assurances that the new methods proposed were indeed sound.
