23 September 1946: HYDRA

Despite the best laid plans of the army and External Affairs, there appears to have been a “considerable delay” with the transfer of HYDRA. This letter from Col. A.E. Wrinch (Director of Signals) to S.F. Clark (Deputy Chief of General Staff B) summarizes the situation from May 1946 to September 1946. While D Sigs had prepared a technical report, and External Affairs had then prepared a proposal (which was to be signed by the Prime Minister), the U.K. had yet to respond.
