About the Authors

Ella Barret is an undergraduate student at the University of Toronto, specializing in History and majoring in Archaeology. Given her subjects of study, Barrett is interested in the intersecting potential of the written record and material culture. Outside of university, Ella enjoys photography, a passion which extends to the use of photographs from the historical archive. 

Megan Chen is an undergraduate student at the University of Toronto, double majoring in Art History and Political Science. She will be studying abroad in Edinburgh during her fourth year in September 2024 while being Co-President of UofT’s History of Art Students’ Association. 

Maya Hutzul is a Toronto native and an undergraduate student at Victoria College completing a double major in Peace, Conflict, Justice studies and Political Science. She has recently completed 2nd year. She is interested in Eastern European history and politics and the Cold War more broadly. She is the Co-President of the Vic Club RealTalk and a writer for the Strand.

Zoë Reichert is an undergraduate student at the University of Toronto, pursuing a double major in History and Political Science with a minor in History and Philosophy of Science and Technology. As of May 2024, she has completed her second year at UofT, and she hopes to continue studying the Cold War and Canadian intelligence history more broadly.
