CDKW00459 - Rotating the Line

This Department of National Defence policy from December 1951 outlined the terms of service for various units and brigades currently in Korea. Namely, troops who had served a full year in Korea and Japan were rotated with new troops, either on a man-to-man or unit-to-unit basis depending on the specific deployment. Even as Canadian diplomats looked optimistically towards negotiations with Peking, the armed forces were planning to keep troops in Korea for possibly many more years, with some units even encouraging men to begin paratrooper training under the CAAF.
