This draft press release covers the early closure of Cold Lake on September 1, 1963, after a fire destroyed some of the facilities. The ability of Namao, the only remaining air base, to shoulder the responsibilities of both air bases appears to indicate their inactivity as the USAF transferred its arsenal away from bomber aircraft.
