CDAC01796: Memorandum To Cabinet Defence Committee (Jan 7, 1957)

After the completion of the USAF survey, nine bases were deemed suitable: Frobisher Bay (Nunavut), Churchill (Manitoba), Cold Lake (Alberta), Namao (Alberta), Coral Harbour (Nunavut), Knob Lake (Quebec), Great Whale River (Quebec), The Pas (Manitoba), and Fort Chimo (Quebec).

The first four of these bases were scheduled to be built and the latter five were slated for future surveys. It is notable that Namao was initially deemed unsuitable by the RCAF due to its proximity to Edmonton (CDAC01764), but was eventually approved.
