CDAC02670: Department of External Affairs Memorandum (December 19, 1962)
Despite having only begun operation in 1961, this document shows that the USAF intended to close Churchill/Frobisher in 1963 and Namao/Cold Lake in 1964 despite their ten-year lease. This is partly due to the increasing preference for other arsenals as opposed to the B-47 bomber aircraft (CDAC02695). However, concurrent renovations were planned for Frobisher Bay despite the impending cancellation (CDAC02738, CDAC02740).
