25 February 1954: Canadian Delegation at NATO Letter

In this letter, Canada’s delegation to NATO further contributes to the debate on the implications of changing US strategy. They confirm that Canada will likely have to play a larger role in the continental defence in North America and that the “nature, structure, and distribution of Canadian forces” will be impacted as a result. Other important implications include a shift in NATO focus towards North America and a long-term approach to increasing NATO resources.
