The Third Group, 1943
Two of the five men who made up the third group of Yugoslav irregulars – Mica Pavičić (referenced as Mike Pavicich) and Janez (John) Smrke – were killed in action. The BSC hoped that volunteering for “dangerous work” would be counted in favour of men like Jovan Chudich, who were not naturalized Canadians, if they chose to return to Canada after the war (CDYS00032).
