About the Author

Aviva Gomes-Bhatt is an M.A. candidate at the University of Toronto's Centre for European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies. She graduated from Ryerson University in 2020 with a double-major in History and English. Aviva's main research interests are twentieth century Germany and postwar Eastern Europe.
