12 November 1943: Letter from USSEA to Commissioner, RCMP

Yet there was more cause for concern. In this letter to Commissioner Wood, Norman Robertson noted that his office had received a transcript of a Russian-language telephone conversation between Ottawa and Halifax. The issue? The call was between the Soviet Legation in Ottawa and the Soviet Consulate in Halifax. Robertson reminded Wood of his conversation with Glazebrook, and stressed that these calls were not to be monitored. A translated transcript of the (rather banal) Russian language conversation is attached to this letter.
