The Emergency Measures Office planned to organize a satellite command center for DND at Camp Petawawa. Although the Petawawa-Kingston area had been recommended previously, this is the first reference made to Camp Petawawa itself, which had previously been a training outpost and POW internment camp during the World Wars.
