CDWB00027: Memorandum from the Chair of JPC (Dec 1952)

This memorandum from the Joint Planning Committee (JPC) shows tripartite (Army, Navy, and Air Force) agreement that it would be imperative to continue military operations after a nuclear strike. A possible solution was the decentralization of the military’s command structure. This idea would remain an aspect of emergency planning into the 1960s.
