CDWB00027: Memorandum from the Chair of JPC (Dec 1952)

This memorandum from the Joint Planning Committee (JPC) shows ​tripartite​​ (Army, Navy, and Air Force) agreement that it would be imperative to continue military operations after a nuclear strike. A ​possible ​solution was the decentralization of the military’s command structure. This idea would remain an aspect of emergency planning into the 1960s.
