5 December 1963: Fallout Decay

This file contains correspondence and reports and fallout characteristics and rate of decay. Interestingly, the Defence Research Board cooperated with the Royal Canadian Air Force in an attempt to detect and track radioactive debris generated by nuclear plume clouds that originated in the northern Soviet Union and drifted over Canadian air space. Nuclear radiation tracking was highly technical and involved extensive resources, as indicated in the correspondence in this file.
