Note to File - Closure of Oshawa Transmitting Station
Dublin Core
Date
Description
Note to file issued by W.H. Finch, summarizing a meeting that took place on 27 February 1968 regarding the closure of Oshawa Transmitting Station. Present at the meeting were representatives from External Affairs, CBNRC and DND. DND indicated Alert circuit could be relocated. Backup circuits linking GCHQ/NSA, MOD/British Embassy, Washington, and Foreign Office/British Embassy Washington had not been used since closure of Hydra TRC. Closure of Oshawa would have no bearing on Tripartite Alerts Conference Network. CBNRC access to a 24 hour channel to be negotiated.
