The Operation APOLLO Files
Tim Sayle introduced this collection here.
Operation APOLLO was the Canadian contribution of air, land and sea forces to the international effort against terrorism and U.S.-led efforts to "root out" al-Qaeda in Afghanistan.
More specifically, "Operation APOLLO refers to the deployment of Canadian Forces (CF) resources to the United States Central Command (USCENTCOM) Area of Responsibility (AOR) and their employment in support ofthe US led coalition campaign against terrorism (Operation ENDURING FREEDOM)."
It began in 2001 and ended in 2003.
Canada Declassified has sought the release of Department of National Defence's General Files on APOLLO held at Library and Archives Canada.
The requests have not all been fulfilled at this point, but some records have been released. This page will be update as more records become available.
