CDAC02291: United States Request for Clearances on Overflights (Feb 28, 1959)

The Canadian government had several concerns about potential blanket clearance, one of which was the potential reception by the Soviet Union, which bordered Canada via the Arctic. This document lays out these foreign policy concerns, including worries that the adoption of the Air Alert programme might stoke higher tensions amid the Berlin Crisis.
