Letter from R.E. MacNintch (Major, Commanding Officer, 701 Comm Sqn, Carp) to the attention of D Comm S6, Captain Smith, cc. D Comm Eng CE3-3, HQ CFCS pertaining to Hydra message length. MacNintch notes Hydra messages can exceed 1000 groups, while STRAD is programmed to accommodate messages under 1100 groups. MacNintch notes the efficiency of the system tends to decrease as messages get longer.
