We agree that it would be desirable for this Department to acknowledge receipt formally of the copy of the communication from the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff to the Judge Advocate General. m AUG 2 9 2. However, apart from mentioning our close interest in the question, and our assumption that we will be consulted in the initial interdepartmental discussions, we think it would be premature for the Department to make any other comments at this time, particularly since it is not yet clear what the legislative problem is or even whether any amendments to present legislation will be necessary. These are matters which will have to be discussed with the Atomic Energy Control Board and the Department of National Revenue. 3.
