As promised in my telegram FOD035/1U. of yesterday's date, J
I am forwarding herewith two copies (Nos. 79 and 80) of our
\__
Handbook on Piccolo.
I hope they will be useful.
2.
Changing the subject you will be aware from my letter of
12 May to Bell of the Cabinet Office, which I copied to you
and Parkin in the British Embassy, Washington, that we hope
to have our new LTC - Leitrim circuit through by 20 June in
the hope, Alvis installation permitting, that we may be able
to go over to direct Washington - Foreign Office Alvis working
at 0001Z on 27 June.
Obviously we would like a test or two
on the through circuit some time before the 27 June and I
should be grateful if Parkin, to whom I am copying this letter,
will keep you generally informed about Alvis installation
progress in the Washington Embassy.

3.
I imagine that during the early days of the Alvis
arrangement we may expect some teething troubles which will
probably,be" much easier solved by direct telephone contact between
yourself »»& Lt.Colonel Gillett and Mr.Parkin.
