a.
When t h e LTC-OTC c h a n n e l h a s b e e n h a n d e d o v e r b y
t h e P o s t O f f i c e , LTC w i l l i n i t i a t e a t e s t w i t h OTC.

S i m i l a r l y , BDS W a s h i n g t o n , w i l l i n i t i a t e a t e s t o f
t h e W a s h i n g t o n Embassy-OTC c h a n n e l , a n d MOD, L o n d o n , o f
t h e i r " t a i l " t o LTC.

On c o m p l e t i o n o f t e s t s a t a . a n d b . LTC w i l l p a t c h
t h e MOD-LTC " t a i l " t o t h e c h a n n e l t o OTC a n d MOD w i l l
c a r r y o u t a p r o v i n g t e s t w i t h OTC.

On the satisfactory conclusion of the test at c ,
OTC will patch the MOD-OTC and Washington Embassy-OTC
channels to form a MOD, London-Washington Embassy circuit
on which MOD will initiate a proving test.

At the conclusion of d. the MOD -W ashing ton circuit
will be handed over to Traffic.

Subsequent Operation

Normally the patches will be left in at LTC and at OTC.
However, it is necessary to provide and maintain at LTC and OTC
full flexibility as between all UK Government-rented
transatlantic cable channels and the associated "tails".
