Clement Dear Sir: This is in reply to a letter dated 21st November I960, File CSC 2213.8 to Mr. J.W.'Noyes, from the Chairman Joint Telecommunications Committee, regarding service complaints on DND circuit 5065. This letter has been referred to us for attention. The customer for this service is The Warrenton Training Centre in U.S.A. and the control office is Washington D.C. The lengthy interruption on 15th November I960, to which reference is made, was reported to be located between Harrisburgh, Pa. and Warrenton, Va. but Washington Control Office has no record of this trouble. This circuit is included in a classified routing between Harrisburgh and Warrenton and the customer is very concerned should an alternate unclassified routing be employed in cases of trouble. The complaint is being investigated further with the A.T.&T. Co. in Washington and action is being taken to prevent a recurrence of this trouble. The report that the reliability of the circuit has never been as high as desired and is progressively deteriorating was also discussed with the A.T.&T. If the resulting action does not seem to be satisfactory, they should then be reported to us direct and not through the Joint Telecommunications Committee.
