transfer of Hydra station to Canadian Government ownership .
2.

Discussions took place here in January, as

you know, with Colonel Maltby, I should, like confirmation
as to users of Hydra/Foreign Office circuit. When Colonel
Maltby was here, the following was agreed informally:
(1) Traffic received in England from Canada will be
delivered to;(a) Office of Canadian High Commissioner in
London,
(bj Dominions Office.

The date for hand-over to Canadian Government

of the Hydra station was informally set at April 1, 194-7.
This date is satisfactory to Canadian Army, and I should be
grateful for confirmation.

I do not anticipate that Dominions Office,
United Kingdom High Commissioner's Office and this Department will commence to use the circuit at once and
I shall keep you informed as to developments in this
regard. So far as Department of External Affairs is concerned, I do not anticipate that we shall use Hydra circuit' until we have installed Rockex equipment.
