Reference ia made to an Aide-Kcmolre of
the Embassy of the United States of America dated
April 29, 1959# regarding the possibility of
r$egot_ sting a new Multilateral NATO Agreement on
Cooperation Regarding Atomic Information which
mould be designed to expand the categories of
information transmitted beyond those provided for
in the existing Agreement*
The Department of External Affaire wishes
to Inform the Embassy that the Canadian Government
would be happy to cooperate in the negotiation
such an agreement*

have the negotiations to this end take place at
NATO Headquarters, Paris,
In coRiiaunicating the foregoing to the
Embassy of the United States of America, due note
has been taken of the statement contained in the
Embassy1© Aide-Memoirs that there would be no question
of superseding the present Agreement until a new
agreement should come into force.
