Bilateral agreement for the military uses of
atomic energy.

"Representatives of the Government of the United
States and the Government of Canada have reached agreement
on the terms of a proposed agreement for the exchange of
atomic information for mutual defence purposes. This
proposed agreement approved by the President and signed
yesterday by [ and
is being submitted to the Joint
Committee on Atomic Energy of the United States Congress.
According to /the terms of the United States Atomic
Energy Act of 1954 the proposed agreement Is to lie
before the Joint Committee for a period of 30 days before
it may be concluded. The text of the agreement will be
released in Ottawa and Washington

same time as the statement and releases on the civil
