As I anticipated, the question of a press
release in the event of information being leaked
to the press about the Tripartite Security Conference came up at the Initial meeting today. I
quote below the text which it is proposed to use
for a release in the event a leak occurs: Text
begins:
Representatives of the United States, United
Kingdom and Canada are meeting in Washington on
May 15 and 16 for the purpose of discussing security standards and procedures applicable to the
protection of information Jointly held by the
atomic energy programs of the three countries.

were held in London last year and is being held
under the auspices of the Combined Policy Committee,
the organization responsible for directing AngloAmerican-Canadian cooperation In the atomic energy
field.
The British delegation will be headed by
Sir Archibald Rowlands, Permanent Under-Secretary
of State, Ministry of Supply; the Canadian by
Dr. C.J. MacKen2ie, Atomic Energy Control Board,
and the United States group by Dr„ T. Keith Glennan,
United States Atomic Energy Commission member.
