Comments on Canadian participation in
the Brno Trade Fair.

Soiree of JIB Interview Report No. JIBS 102-2000-15*73,
a Czech defector, corsraented on the Ctsiadian Ejthibit at Brno Trade
Fatr. Hit comments have not bean included i n the report nor have
they been passed elsewhere but they may be of some value in the
event of further Canadian participation in Trade Fairs.
Two years ago there had been a snail Canadian exhibition
at the annual Brno machinery exhibition. At the Canadian exhibit
one could get a booklet i n the Czech language printed in Canada
showing pictures of Canada, industry etc. Source said this was
excellent material and did a lot of good, was worthwhile anti
communist propaganda and showed what the "decandent capital:
could do.
Re made two suggestions:
(1) Future hand outs of this type should be limit
one per person^ as soma police agents gathered
many as they could to prevent their dissaainatlon.
(2) That tha Catch language used was neither the best,
nor up to date, and could easily be improved*
(3) Mien printed in English and Czech such material i s
eagerly sought by students as practice material for
English language studies and therefore haa a wider
impact.
