together with a draft Memorandum to Cabinet Defence
Comittee* which is self-explanatory* Tho draft
letters to the U#S* Secretary of State were storked
out between ttr* Glasebroote and UT* Crean and off lelale
of the Central Intelligence Agency and the State
Department. The U«S* offlelale expressed a strong
preference for the form now proposed which deals
separately with the question of exchanging Intelligence*
and consultation between Govermaonts. I believe we
should raeet their suggestlone rather than atick to
the formula preaented at the last meeting of consultation* In fact the two proposed letters arercuchstore
precise than the fcrania originally presented* (For
convenience I an attaching a copy of the formula left
with tho State Department after the meeting of
consultation*
