R eplacem ent of 60th Indian
Field Am bulance in Korea
1.
Irefer to Joint StaffM em orandum , CSC: 7.10.5
(D /C JS), dated 20 Jan 54, regarding an Australian
inquiry as to w hether, should hostilities break out
again in Korea, Canada could m ake available a field
am bulance unit to replace 60th Indian Field Am bulance
in 1st Com m onwealth D ivision or. alternatively, contri
bute to an Integrated unit for this purpose.
2.
Iconsider that Canada has m ade a sufficient
contribution ofm edical units to Korea. The field
am bulance, field dressing station, field surgical team
and field transfusion team already there represent the
greater part of the m edical service of 1st Com m onwealth
D ivision. It is m y opinion that we should accept no
further m edical com m itm ent.
