I am attaching herewith copy of translation of an article recently clip~g~~om one of the papers published in the Eastern~ of Berlin. The Russians and their Communist Satellites in East Germany maintain, of course, the world's record for falsification and plain lying. One must admit that never has the world seen more ingenious or imaginative liars. The article attached hereto, which refers to the building in which our office is situated, is evidence of this fact. There is not a statement in the article which is true. 3. Tempelhof Airport is the American one, and no British flying is done therefrom. However, this is only a detail. How these bomber pilots can be flown to Australia and from there move to Korea, in the short space of time which has elapsed since the commencement of the Korean fracas, is a bit puzzling to me. The driver could not make change right away, and so a convereation started during which the future bomber-pilots revealed something about themselves. They were all ex-Luftwaffe officers -- pilots. For dark reasons they ha.d "fled" the German Democratic Republic and finally landed in the "Refugee Camp" at. CunoFi~cher Stras~e. Here they were given the "chance" of one eay reporting as bomber-pilots. They were sent to Johannisberger Strasse to sign the contract there and receive the premium. The British air line on Kurfuerstendamm made travel arrangements and, as early as the evening of the same day, the new mercenaries had to take off from Tempelhof for Hamburg. There the victims from throughout Germany are collected and forwarded to overseas destinations. Everything is being done in a great hurry, as the U.S.A. needs "help" very urgently. The "Refugee Camp" at Cuno-Fischer Strasse is subject to the Reuter Administration. It tolerates this man-smuggling and probably even profits from it.
