Laurent Beaudry, Esq.,
Assistant Under Secretary for External Affairs,
Ottawa.

Dear Mr. Beaudry?
Mr. T. A. Stone suggested to me on the
telephone this morning that I forward the enclosed passport
applications and statutory declarations to you.

I understand that Mr. Stone has explained
the urgency and I would appreciate very much if you could return
the passports and certificates of identity to me in Toronto
It now appears that these men will leave
by special delivery.
Toronto by Wednesday 26th August at the latest in order, to avoid
missing the only boat available for a considerable period - proba
bly some months.

I may possibly be in New York during the next
two days and if any questions arise I would appreciate your
getting in touch with Mr. E. Curwain, or my Secretary Miss
Woodruffe, atmWAverley 4561, Toronto.
Many thanks for your co-operation.

For obvious reasons the Voucher for these/applicants
had to delete the words that he had known the applicants for at
least two years.
I trust this will be satisfactory.
In
three instances the applicants hold certificates of naturalisa
tion but only one can be produced without involving a delay
of two or three days.
However, the numbers of the other two
certificates have been inserted and, further, one of the two
holders is in any case surrendering a British passport, enclosed
herewith.

P.S.
