MEMORANDUM FOR MR. CREAN:
I quote the following paragraph
from a letter dated 28th September, 1948, which
I have received from Mr. Jarvis, the Secretary
of the Atomic Energy Control Board.
"The question of supply of Eldorado's
products to various European countries
was discussed by the Board on the 24th
instant. The feeling of the Board was
that there was no security reason for
• interfering with any supply of radium
to any country that would pay for it In
acceptable currency. This would apply
even to neutron sources using radium as
the active material. Large quantities
of radium exist in Europe and presumably
further supplies are available from Belgian
sources. Different considerations might
apply to some other product such as polonium but these cases could be dealt with
when they arose."
I should be glad to have your views,

c/n. Personnel Officer.
