&X THE IS5iN|^rr-

Dear Mr. Greens
At a meeting on December 6 of the Regina Committee for Control of Radiatio
Hazards, the following resolution was drafted:
Whereas Canada is in a unique position to strengthen the stand of
the uncommitted nations,
and whereas a sane and courageous lead from even a few nations might
well result in breaking through the deadlock of the nuclear great
powers,
and whereas nothing but complete catastrophe can result from continuing the nuclear arms race,
and whereas the Canadian Government has already taken an encouraging
position on disarmament and has suggested a more independent foreign
policy for Canada,
therefore this meeting urges upon the Government of Canada that it
announce the following policiess
1. refusal to permit nuclear weapons or nuclear bases on
Canadian soil;
2. refusal to accept nuclear weapons for use by Canadian forces
anywherej
3. opposition to providing nuclear weapons to NATO.
Our Committee is made up of responsible citizens who have no political
axe to grind, and it is our hope that you will give this resolution the most
thoughtful consideration.
I have been instructed to send similar letters to Prime Minister John
Diefenbaker, to the Minister of Defence, to Mr. Lester B. Pearson, to Mr.
Hazen Argue, and to Mr. Ken More.
Yours^t:

r. Crossroan,
Chairman, RCCRH.
