1.
I am attaching three telegrams (I860, 1869 and 1890)
dealing with the U. S. proposal to reactivate the Combined Policy
ommlttee. Tats ommlttee was established to 1943 la order to
facilitate co-operation la atomic matters between the United
Kingdom, tha Hatted States and Canada* However after tha end
of World War II, co-operation became much more limited, and
as a re nuit of security difficulties between the United States aad
the United Kingdom, this Committee has been dormant except
la the field of Joint procurement o* uranium ore.•

fields aad to be anad as the agency for deallag with que ottons

Mr. Elsenhower aad Mr. MacMillan. It le proposed that the
Combined Policy Committee ha composed of the Secretaries
of Jtate, the Ministers of Defence aad the Presidents at the
Atomic Snergy agencies la tha three countries.
These telegrams are being rerlewed by tha htefs
of Staff aad I will advise yon later whether wo have any

body for dealing with many of the ouestlons, such as tha supply
