MEMORANDUM FOR MR. CAMPBELL:
Mr. Bryce sent the following
hand-written note out of the Council Chamber:
"Please call Mr. Campbell
and tell him (I havens time to go out now)
that Cabinet wants the officials (Ex.Affairs and
Defence) to re-examine the agreement and
revise it to omit the Appendix and say in para. 1
- approximately
•The U.S. shall provide and maintain
stockpiles of nuclear warheads for
the use of the Canadian Forces in respect
of the weapons and weapon systems specified
by agreement between
the two governments
from time to time.1 "
I was not able to reach you by
telephone and thought I should send you this
note.
