Pearson (Leader of the Opposition): I should like to ask the Prime Minister whether he cares to comment on a report in the press this morning to the effect that nuclear weapons for United States jet interceptors are to be stored in Canada. Right Hon. J. G. Diefenbaker (Prime Minister): There have been discussions with the United States government regarding the possible conditions under which nuclear weapons for jet interceptors might be stored in United States leased bases in Canada. No agreement has been arrived at. Mr. Pearson: I should like to ask a supplementary question. Are these discussions concerned with the storage of nuclear weapons in leased bases in Canada, and in leased bases only?
