1.
With reference to paragraph 2 of my CSC 14-8-11-2 dated
October 7th, 1949, it is desired to reiterate that the Joint
Intelligence Staff will be required to produce the general study
of Canadian vulnerability in relation to atomic bombing, as well as
the basic outline of the approach to be followed in attempting the
detailed paper.
2.
Any representations which the Joint Intelligence Staff
might wish to make in regard to the broad study of Canadian vulnerability, either as to the method of approach or use of sources,
should be communicated to the Secretary of the Joint Intelligence
Committee when the basic outline is submitted on October 12th.
3.
This supplementary note to CSC 14-8-11-2 of October 7th
is being promulgated in order that any misunderstanding concerning
the intent of the directive expressed in paragraph 2 of the abovementioned memorandum may be cleared up.
